Relationships will take on new meanings now so you really want to learn how to deal with them. Depending on your career choice, you may need to develop good people skills. Even if you won’t be dealing directly with others in your career, it is helpful to learn this fine art now.
During your college years you will meet all sorts of different people, and this will help to develop your people skills. You want to learn to get along with all the difference people and personalities harmoniously.
You can learn how to get along with others starting with your dorm. Chances are you will have a room-mate, or mates. Depending on the type of dorm, you could have one to three others sharing your space. They will be people who you may or may not have stuff in common with. This is a great way to learn how to develop strong friendships and bonds with others.
You can also turn to the counselors at the school. They will help you in improving your people skills and in learning how to get along well with others.
Remember… Your happy life is an inside job,
Herb
Herb Ammons is a Life Skills Speaker who uses purposeful storytelling and interactive exercises to teach students the “12 Secrets to a Happy Life” and help them identify positive behaviors to help deal with the challenges of everyday life. In the process, they will recognize their own set of skills that they can apply to make better day-to-day and life choices. Herb’s programs aim at developing practical competence skills in the rapidly changing life of a student by addressing areas that include managing personal affairs, goal setting and achievement, and health and wellness. Herb helps students deal with the college blues, the mental stress of new people and new experiences, new classmates and roommates, the dating scene and more of the experiences that are all new to college students in their first years. Herb is available to bring his message to your students, faculty and staff at your next campus event.
