Student life is fun but difficult at the same time due to the process of studies. Some have part-time jobs, which together with studies make it to where a student is tired because of being occupied all the time. Along with that, some manage to create families. Having a family is a huge responsibility and it requires more time for a family itself and for work to be able to provide the family with everything what it needs.
However, while studying, a student may fall for his/her professor and this is an issue because relationships between students and professors have always been something inappropriate. Professors normally are much older. Some might be already married… In addition, they are cultural workers after all. It is considered to be a wrong lesson to give. Some students might just be into older partners or be mesmerized with charm of their professors because of their age, knowledge; they tend to think that as long as professor is older, he or she knows life better and there is something about age gap…
Such relationships, though, might end up badly and one of the parties might remain angry, for example a professor. It would be rather inconvenient the least to let an angry professor put you a grade because of the break-up you had before. Also, other professors may find out just like other students. The professor`s colleagues will no longer take you seriously and will judge the professor. Such a scandal will have a destructive impact on the professor career.
In case you think that the game is worth the candle, wait until you graduate so the object of your desire was no longer teaching you. Make sure no one gets hurt as a result. With this purpose, look through the policy of the college upon this matter. Because in some institutions, this kind of relations is banned.
If the two have a considerate age gap, it is important to be sure that they both are on the same wavelength otherwise it might not work after a romantic period is over. Students due to their young age tend to exaggerate things and such relationships might be doomed once they face with life obstacles.
Do not do anything what could possibly create a provoking situation. Avoid spending extra time with a professor you fell for. Refuse from being given rides etc. Leave by yourself. Pay attention to the attention (pardon the tautology) you are given to. Tell the dean about danger you see from a professor in case you recognized inappropriate signals of attention. In case you are in contact with your professor, do not use social media but college email only for your correspondence. It is better to be safe than sorry.
